Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American TV personality who is a chef, and a ex-teacher at the Institute of Culinary Education. She is the host of Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her famous spiky blonde hair and pumped-up persona on the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, reveals simple and easy to master techniques for home cooks. Chef Burrell has worked at New York at top restaurants as well as studied Italian cuisine tradition and its environment. Also, she was a contestant on Iron Chef America on Food Network. Growing up in upstate New York, Chef Burrell discovered a love for cooking and food in her early years. The Culinary Institute of America is where she enrolled following her graduation with an English degree and a Communications diploma at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was where I had the most fun time of my life. The Culinary Institute of the Americas was a fantastic place to study. After graduating, chef Burrell was in Italy for a year, attending the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. She also worked in La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin starred restaurant) in Tuscany. While in Italy she was able to fully appreciate and understand the philosophy of Italian culinary and cultural traditions that has had a profound impact on her culinary viewpoint. Burrell was a Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board member, which aims to improve living conditions for children facing challenges. Burrell also serves as an Juvenile Disease Research Foundation's celebrity ambassador and advocates awareness of the dangers of childhood diabetes. She travels frequently around the nation in her capacity as a mentor as well as a public speaker in which she speaks about her career and love of cooking. Through her culinary adventures, Anne has always said I feel extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to share what I love most in life with others.
