Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina (or Antonia) Shevchenko competes as a Kyrgyzstani Muay Thai fighter in the UFC's flyweight division. She is the younger sister of fellow UFC fighter and former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko started her professional career as an Muay Thai kickboxer. Her debut was in 2003 during the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko won the tournament and defeated Suzane Milliner with a unanimous verdict. Antonina Shevchenko won an additional medal in the year 2007 with a bronze, a silver in 2008, and a gold medal in 2011 and was crowned as the IFMA Amateur World Muay Thai Champion in 2016. Antonia was first introduced to the professional world in at the age of 2003. She won at the world championships for light Welterweight at WKC in 2012 and the Lion Fight Lightweight World Championships 2016, and the WMC World Championships and the Phoenix FC World Championships 2016. Antonina's final fight took place at the Phoenix Fighting Championship against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas. She was victorious by unanimity. Antonina Shychenko's professional MMA debut came in 2002, at the KFK Cup of Kyrgystan in which she fought Anara Bayanova. She was victorious via TKO in the second round, and then won her two fights following in the WXF X-Impact World Championships of 2003. She was awarded an MMA record of 3-0. Shevchenko took a short time off from MMA and focused on her kickboxing. Shevchenko made her comeback in 2017 against Anissa Diddaoui. Shevchenko defeated Anissa by a unanimous vote and then defeated Valerie Domergue at Phoenix FC 4. She joined the Dana White Contender Series 2018 following her departure from the competition. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera as part of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. Antonina utilized her fighting techniques to TKO Nievera in the clinch with knees and body. Antonina Shevchenko received a UFC contract following this win. Antonina was offered the UFC contract after her win. Shevchenko beat Roxanne Modeafferi in a unanimous decision. However, she then was unable to win her next fight due to an unanimous verdict. Antonina was able to bounce back from her loss, and won Lucie Prudilova at UFC on ESPN Covingtonvs. Lawler who was able to win the fight by back naked choke submission. It was the best fight of the night for that bout. Shevchenko lost to Katlyn as well as Andrea Lee in three of her subsequent fights. She won over Ariane Lipski, but beat Ariane.
